I like to write, especially melodies, and over the years have amassed a number of tunes I listen to regularly to relax, to eat or to drive. I find words a challenge because there are so many it is hard to be happy that you have just the write one, but I persist. This section of the site does and will contain demos of songs, some merely instrumental some with voice but all crafted with much care. A number are new melodies to old tunes or poetic songs of old I admire; I call them "Famous Dead Guys". The next collection are tunes related to activities, I call them "Active Lifers". The third category are a variety of tunes dedicated to "Friends and Family", special or memorable occasions and so forth. Finally my major fourth category is entitled "Messy Melodies" where I deposit tunes motivated by Political or Natural disasters of which there are no shortage. I will add to this site regularly so if you enjoy something check back next week and you may find something else you like.
My favourite composer is Robbie Burns, whose words sing out in many melodies. His "Address to the Haggis" is one of many of his songs I've written a new tune for so that I may enjoy his lyrics even more. Hope you do too.
A wee song I wrote for a contest inspired by a Lynn Miles line, "It is the desperation of a late night telephone call."
A tribute to the beginning of Spring and the run of maple sap soon to be syrup, the best cooking additive short of herbs. Enjoy this suite tune.
