My favourite composer is Robbie Burns, whose words sing out in many melodies. His "Address to the Haggis" is one of many of his songs I've written a new tune for so that I may enjoy his lyrics even more. Hope you do too.
"A Man's a Man" is my favourite lyric and has inspired me to write several melodies a couple of which are in this effort.
A rousing tune for Robert Brownings song "Boot and Saddle"
Inspired by the beautiful poem by John Magee.
Inspired by the haunting poem about The Pas circa 1920 by Bert Huffman
Inspired by the Polar explorers of old as so eloquently described in "Barrow's Boys"
Inspired by the classic New Year's song with a western waltz approach for the new countries.
Inspired by the poignant poem by AA Milne.
May the future be bright
A tribute in remembrance to all my relations (David, Sydney, Bob, Alex, Charlie, Ted, and Doug) who gave so many years of service in hope.
255 and still inspiring, here's another wee tribute dram Rabbie....
May the birds always sing....
Inspired by the poignant and sobering account of the Somme by John Harris, in both orchestral and as a vocal new age arrangement.
